We decided to make a countdown calender with Isabelle so that she could see the days until the older kids would be back. It was so sad to see the look on her face when we explained that she could cross out one box every morning and she saw ALL those boxes that had to be crossed out. It finally hit her...they are gone for a while. She now wakes us up every morning and wants to cross off a day very first thing.
Yes, this is how Isabelle wakes up EVERY morning. Roger is the one who gives her a bath at night and he always combs her hair straight back afterwards???? Don't ask me why. I think he loves waking up and feeling like he is living with some 80's rocker or something. The worst part is that on the weekends they wake up and go to get the newspaper, coffee or whatever and he takes her, just like that. Last Saturday some old lady in the market asked Roger how he got Isabelle's hair to do that. She said she had tried everything to get hers to stand up a little more. Roger swears she was serious. He got a kick out of that.
