visiting Iolani Palace

On Wednesday I had to go downtown to get my Hawai'i State ID card so Roger decided to meet us for lunch. Downtown Honolulu is very beautiful. A lot of the government buildings, museums, libraries, gardens, universities and event centers are all very centrally located. Just a block or so from the HPU is Iolani Palace. Iolani Palace is the only official royal palace in the United States. We could not go inside because there was some commotion going on because the leader of a Hawaiian group had been banned from the grounds of the palace. They were expecting some kind of riot of something. There were some nice policemen from HPD that thought Isabelle was a little Hawaiian Princess in her tutu. She gladly went to stand with them and posed for a picture. She noticed one of them doing the shaka sign (hang loose) and did it herself.
The people of Hawai'i are so nice. the princess and her entourage
You can imagine how many comments we had walking around downtown with Isabelle in her pettiskirt. She turned head after head and loved every compliment that was given to her.
