As some of you have already heard Roger's dad passed away on October 30th.

Rogelio was an incredible guy. For those of you that didn't ever meet him, he was so much like Roger. He loved his grandchildren and loved spending time with them; playing games, going for walks, fishing with them and teaching them new things. He was a great listener and so much fun to talk to. The last few times we went to visit he and I would sit in the living room and talk, talk, talk. I loved hearing his stories about life in Panama when he was a young boy and about he and Virginia's decision to move to the US with their family.
Isabelle talked and sang to her Abuelito the morning before he passed on the phone for the first time in months. Roger's mom said he opened his eyes and smiled at the sound of Isabelle's voice. Roger's dad hasn't been able to use his voice for over a month now so we have not been talking to him like we used to. Roger had never thought to put Isabelle on the phone before then.....he must have been inspired.

Roger, the kids and I flew to Northern California on the 1st of November for the service and returned to Hawai'i over the weekend. Roger has the greatest family ever and it was great to see them all and be able to spend that time with them.
